Start with the pieces you reuse
The highest-return motion asset for a small brand is the one that appears on everything: an animated logo sting for openers, and a matching outro for closers. Produce it once and it runs on every video you publish for years.
After that come animated social posts — taking a static campaign graphic and giving it three to five seconds of movement. It is a small production step that meaningfully changes how the post performs in a feed.
Where the cost actually sits
Duration matters less than complexity. A 30-second piece built from your existing brand assets can cost less than a 10-second sequence that needs custom illustration or 3D modelling built from scratch.
The same applies to explainer videos. A 2D explainer using a template system you own is a different budget from a bespoke one, and for most businesses the template version does the job.
When 3D earns its cost
Product visualisation and 3D animation pay off when the product is hard to photograph, does not exist yet, or has internal detail worth showing. Packaging, machinery and technical products are the usual cases.
If the product photographs well and is already in production, a good photograph plus motion typography will usually get you further for the money.
